1. Weight Loss Truth #1 – Not all carbs are bad: I know that lots of fad diets call for total elimination of carbohydrates from the meals. This is dependent on a wrong assumption that carbohydrates are the sole reason behind obesity. But the facts are that not all carbohydrates are bad. The bad carbohydrates are those that you find in sugar and white flour, but you can obtain good carbohydrates from vegetables, fruits, beans, etc. Good carbohydrates will give the number of energy you need for performing your workouts. If you eradicate carbs totally from your meals, you will soon endure weakness and loss of energy.
2. Weight Loss Truth #2 – Not all snacks are bad: You cannot escape snacks still much you try, because snacks have become area of the American way of life. The single thing you can get done is to dispose of calorie-rich snacks like chips and processed foods, and try grapes, almonds, apples and bananas instead!
3. Weight Loss Truth #3 -Not all fast foods are bad: When it concerns fast foods, the same truth applies: you cannot taint all fast foods with the same color, because not every one of them are bad. Fast foods like French fries, cheese burgers, sugary foods, sodas, etc., are rich in fat and calorie and hence, bad for your health. Yet, you have good alternatives as well – why not try chicken sandwiches, salads and water instead?
4. Weight Loss Truth #4 – Excessive weight is not always an indication of poor lifestyle pattern: Most physicians and experts claim that people become overweight because of their poor eating characteristics along with sedentary lifestyle, which is simply not true. Some people become overweight because of conditions like thyroid disease, or abrupt modifications in hormonal patterns.
5. Weight Loss Truth #5: Skipping meals is not good: Most fad diets restrict your food intake in such a manner that you virtually remain hungry as a rule. Some people think that if you miss meals you will be in a position to slim down faster, while reality is simply the opposite. If you follow those fad diets or miss meals, your body will sense the fact that you are trying to starve it to death. This is when your body will take the correct steps to save itself, by storing fat inside your body in place of burning them. On another note, if you have never been someone to give your body sufficient nutrition, your metabolic rate will slow down automatically and you will burn less fat than normal.
